About Winsor Photography:

Hello. My name is Tara Winsor. I am a wife, and a mother to the sweetest little miracle. I love to sleep in, and stay up late. You can often find me up until 2 or 3 in the morning editing images, or creating new things. I love music, and can often be found with headphones in my ears. I enjoy spending time with my family, and do so every chance I get. I hate being alone. I always like to have company. I crochet in the winter when it's cold. I love playing the Wii, and am trying to improve my bowling skills. I love Olive Garden and could eat their salad and breadsticks all day long. I have recently been introduced to specialty cupcakes, and am in love. I love watching "The Office" and "The Amazing Race". I really don't like being cold, at all. But I absolutely ADORE the beach, and would live on one if I could. I am a techno geek, and spend a lot of time trying to figure out, research, and play with the latest electronics. And lastly, I am a photographer. Take a look around at everything, and let me know what you like! Feel free to email me at info@winsorphotography.com or give me a call at 435-770-9367.

    Tubbs Family {Utah Family Photography}

    Thursday, March 31st, 2011

    Meet my ever gorgeous friend Elise and her family. Elise and I have been friends since Junior High School. And it’s SO weird to look at us and see us with families of our own!!

    Elise and Curtis have 3 AMAZING kiddios!! Their oldest boy just so happens to be the EXACT age as our little man. :) They were born on the same day!

    They wanted some new family pictures done, and I was happy to oblige. :) They asked if they could do them in their house. Well, the top part of their house was devastated in a fire a couple of months ago. So since they are having to rebuild the entire upstairs, they wanted some pictures done in it. Which worked out because the day we did them, was rainy and COLD!! We only snuck outside for a couple of pictures!! But this first picture was taken in their master bedroom. LOVE how they turned out!!

    Elise, thank you for being an amazing friend! LYLASASMM!!

    Enjoy! And if you want to book a session, shoot me an email at info@winsorphotography.com
    Let’s play!!

    Film {Utah Portrait Photographer}

    Friday, March 25th, 2011

    Happy Friday!!!

    I absolutely love Friday’s. Probably because Sam gets the weekends off, and I know we can have fun as a family, and also the weekend is when I do a lot of my photoshoots!! Woot!
    And things are starting to pick up now that the weather is getting warmer!! YAY!

    Oh, except it is snowing today.

    Haha, so we are staying in where it’s warm, watching movies, and editing. :) It was then that I realized that I never showed you my practice with Film!

    You see, when I started photography 13 years ago, I started with film. I would load the film, take the pictures, and then develop the pictures in a dark room. LOVED it. And then the switch to digital happened. I followed along, but there has always been a tug at my heart for film. I kept my film camera, and would pull it out every now and then. I finally was able to get it working again, and went out and took some pictures with the b/w film that had been in my case for about 8 years. That’s why there are different tones in some of the pictures.

    I fell in love again.
    I LOVE FILM.

    So it’s now a project that I am working on, I want to shoot at least one roll of film a month. Just for fun.

    Here are the pictures from my first roll of film in 8 years.

    Enjoy!

    Before and After {Utah Couples Photographer}

    Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

    I had the chance to go to Wheeler Farm on Saturday and take pictures of this AMAZING couple.

    But I will tell you more about this couple, when I do their blog post. :) Right now, it’s a Before and After.

    The image on the left is my before image. It is SOOC, and doesn’t have any editing done to it.

    What I did, was I added a sky since the top of the image just looked so empty, and I wanted to add some depth to it. So we added a sky, added some contrast to the image, and warmed the image up a little. Ran an unsharp mask at the end, and it was done! It took less than 5 minutes to do! If you want to see the step by step, let me know and I will see what I can do. :)

    but enjoy, and it you want to go out and play in this AMAZING weather we’ve been having, shoot me an email at info@winsorphotography.com

    Albums {Utah Photographer}

    Thursday, March 10th, 2011

    Today I woke up with anticipation. :) I knew that the UPS man was going to be delivering a package from Italy to me, and I.COULD.NOT.WAIT.  My order was coming from GraphiStudio in Italy.

    What was it?

    ALBUMS!!

    That’s right, sample albums of my work! I have been wanting to offer Albums for a quite a while, and just haven’t figured it out. Well, I decided to figure it out, and get one made. :) I am REALLY excited about these, and am going to be offering them with wedding packages. Great thing is, you can also get them made of your family pictures, or senior photos too! PERFECT for all worlds. :)

    So make sure to ask about them for your session!

    So here is some eye candy of them. This big book is 14×14 inches and 60 pages. They don’t HAVE to be 60 pages, they CAN be smaller. :) And they come in all sizes. :)   And it comes in Blue Leather. Yummm.

    The pages lay flat when you open them, which is awesome.

    And they printed out VERY nice! I was surprised at how they printed. But the color matches and everything.

    With it I also got an 8×8 inch coffee table book with dust cover. The dust covers are actually printed on metallic paper. NIIIICE!

    And 4 4×4inch parent books. PERFECT for carrying around in a purse, or for gifts for your parents, grandparents, siblings, etc! These dust covers were also printed on metallic paper. :)

    See…perfect hand size books!!

    Enjoy! And let me know what you think. :)

    Want an album? Make sure to add it into your package!!

    Love Is In The Air {Utah Photographer}

    Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

    These were from back on Valentine’s Day, when the weather was warmer, and we didn’t have umm…SNOW on the ground. :) I am DYING for Spring, so I wanted to post something that was outdoors, and slightly warm. :)

    This is my Bubba. (No, that’s not his REAL name, but it’s his “online” name :) ) He wanted to go outside and play, and I wanted to practice some new stuff for children’s portraiture. And as we ALL know, keeping up with a 2 year old is TOUGH!! So, I will take all the practice I can get!!

    We headed out with the sidewalk chalk, and the bubbles. Remember, we are thinking everything SPRING here. And I let him go to town. This is right outside my apartment. Can I tell you how much I LOVE the brick in front of my place?! Seriously, why did I NOT catch onto this sooner!! Want pictures of your kids in front of it? Let’s plan a play date :) I ended up sitting in the middle of my parking lot for some of them (which prompted neighbors to come and ask if I was ok…) But I love these. :) I want to blow them up big for my little’s room.

    All in all, we had one big thing of bubbles spill, and chalk ended up EVERYWHERE. (read: my door, the wall, the concrete, the parking lot, the flowers, and of course Bubba :) ) and I wouldn’t change a THING about it. :)

    So, enjoy!!

    He usually gets tired of having me in his face with a camera all the time. :)

    Enjoy :) Want to go play? Shoot me an email at info@winsorphotography.com

    Snow {Utah Portrait Photographer}

    Tuesday, March 8th, 2011

    If you live in Utah, you know about the storm that hit yesterday afternoon. It hit cold, and fast. I looked out and it was raining, and then when my hubby walked in the door everything was white!! What?! Well, I was sitting down at the computer, looking through images on Pinterest, and found one that was done in snow. How FUN! I had thought about doing them in snow, but not at NIGHT!

    SO, of course the logical side of my brain started working. This storm was only going to last so long, and it looked so peaceful outside with it falling. I didn’t want to drive in it, so I thought we would walk somewhere close by and try it out. I looked at Sam (my hubby) and said “will you PLEASE come out and help me try and do something like this?!” I’m pretty sure I tried to bribe him with stuff like “I will love you forever!” or “I will give you a hundred kisses!” He looked at me and smiled. “Sure” So we got ready, bundled up and went walking.

    Let me tell you, the visual of the snow LIED. It was WINDY, and the snow would feel like pellets hitting your face. It was COLD. My fingers FROZE. After walking and trying to find a place, Sam looked at me and said “I’ll drive you around if you want”
    melt my heart.

    So we jumped in the car and drove to a nearby park. And these are some of the resulting images. :) I actually really like how they turned out.

    What do you think?

    Freedom {Utah Photography}

    Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

    Can we say delayed?
    Because that’s what these are. It’s awful with how delayed these pictures are. :) These were taken at the end of JUNE last year. Where it was a shoot that I stylized, it kind of took the back burner while I worked on clients images. My goal this year is to STAY CAUGHT UP with personal photos!! But I was finally able to process these. :)

    You’ll recognize people. There is my sister Kaleigh, my sister in law Tabitha and nephew DK, my brother Curtis, and my other sister Tanielle.  We wanted it to be a 4th of July themed shoot. :) It was fun.

    Thanks guys for putting up with me. :)

    Enjoy! And make sure you leave some love. :)
