This little man has my heart.
He was my Valentine today, as my hubby has been sick all night/day with the stomach flu.
How did I get to be so lucky?
Here’s wishing all of you a Happy Valentine’s Day.
And to all of you newly engaged folk (or those who KNOW someone who got engaged today), remember my deal I’ve got going on? Make sure to check it out, the month is half over.

Enjoy.
Have you guys heard of with.in?
If not, you need to head over there and get in the know. It looks to be an amazing journey that I can’t WAIT to be a part of.
Every week, they post a word. You are allowed to interpret this word however you want, and then post your definition of the word.
I have to admit it’s hard. I have been thinking about it for 5 days now, wondering what I’m going to write.
This last weeks word was:
Sto.ry
I’ve never been a writer. I admit that. I did whatever I had to do to pass English, and not fail it. When I was younger, I wanted to write books. But let’s be honest, my mind wouldn’t let me focus on any one thing long enough to actually write a book. It would have to be more just random thoughts.
I was talking to my mom, who happens to be one of my best friends, about how I was going to write this. Complaining, yet again, that I.CAN’T.WRITE. What she said reminds me why I am taking this journey with these ladies. She told me: “just be you. You may not be a writer, but I love the way you write. That’s why I read your blog. It’s YOU”. And then I realized that I don’t HAVE to focus so much on the writing. I need to just focus on being me.
Anyway. Back to the subject, and enough about my lack of writing skills.
Story. Everyone has one. I find myself on roadtrips, looking at people in the car next to me, wondering where they are headed. What are they driving to, or what are they driving from? When I think of stories, I think of perspectives. You can have 10 people read the same book, and everyone will come away with something different. As it is with life.
My life story changes with how my perspective is.
3 years ago, my perspective was off. it was very closed, and very centered. i’ve been able to see this perspective change over the years, and I can see that chapter from a few years ago in a new light.
Have you ever done that? Read a story, and then as your life changed, you read it again, and come away with something different?
Every.Single.Chapter.Is.Different.
Each one has a different perspective.
I would like to think that I have a better perspective on things now than I have in the past. And I would hope that as I grow and learn, that my perspective will continue to change. I always hope that it will change for the better, but I know that sometimes we need to fall, in order to stand a little taller.
My life, according to some, has been pretty easy. I was raised in an amazing family. I am pretty sure that when I was younger, I yelled at some of my siblings, and said I hated them and that when I grew up, I was never going to talk to them again. I grew up. And they are my best friends. The things that were SO.IMPORTANT.I.CAN’T.LIVE.WITHOUT.AND.WILL.DIE.IF.IT.CHANGES. have changed, and I didn’t die.
And they aren’t so important to me.
There are some things that are constant in my story, and my perspective has changed on them as well.
My family.
My parents, my siblings, their spouses and children, my husband and my son.
They are always there for me. Even when I’m a dork, and don’t deserve their love.
My perspective on family has changed as well with my story.
The way I wanted my family to grow, has not been able to happen. I’ve had the wonderful chance to add to my family a different way, and in turn has made my family grow.
But no matter how it grows, it is still my family.
I hope that in this journey, I can find and show you guys a little more about myself. Show you my perspective on things, and show you my story.
And I hope you guys join in on the journey that Tiffany and Vanessa have started.
I will be doing a post like this weekly.
Photos taken by my husband, edited by me.
